The PCT is a portable machine used primarily to control the quality of machine filled boxes after they have been die cut, for their crease strength (Score bend strength). As the speed of automatic machinery used in packaging lines increases, so do the demands for better quality from carton producing vendors.
The PCT Works on the same principles as the LCT and performs three important carton parameters, crease (or score bend) torque, carton forming torque and spring back with an optional friction test between two cartons.
The machine is small, lightweight and meets the requirements for QC and QA within packaging manufacturing sites. When connected to the data analysis tool, it provides a complete graphical view of the carton allowing users to inspect real-time characteristics of bend, form and friction.
Housed in a robust Storm case for ease of portability, the machine can provide important comparative data between manufacturing sites, carton batches and carton types. It is also a necessary tool for setup and monitoring of die and machine maintenance schedules.
The portability of the PCT, alongside its easy maintenance and calibration, makes it perfect for production testing in situ - in carton manufacturing plants, warehousing or for high-speed carton packing lines to maintain quality where it’s critical.
